You can now create your own playlists from selected music tracks in the archive.
These are either stored locally in localStorage (cookies) or may be stored on a web server if the archive is being run from a suitable server. The latter allows the playlists to be shared between devices.
Once created, playlists may be:
A long press (at least a second) on the right-most 20% of the blue background will scroll the displayed index up or down according to the vertical location of the click. A long-press anywhere on the remaining left-most 80% of the blue background will scroll to the top of the index.
With the picture displayed, just swipe up diagonally (either to the left or to the right) across the browser window and the print dialog will appear.
The speed of audio playback may be varied. This allows, for example, dances to be practised at a slower speed.
This now has an optional progress bar that can be displayed at the bottom of the window.
Many bugs have been identified in testing and hopefully all fixed! If you find any new problems please let us know and we will endeavour to fix them as soon as possible.
A long press (at least a second) on the top title line of a page will cause it to flash briefly at which point a normal highlight and copy to clipboard action may be used on text on the page. A quick double click on the top title line will restore the normal swipe capabilities.
Newer versions of the Firefox browser (versions 66 and later - released March 2019) no longer allow the autoplay of audio which makes the archive easier to use! If autoplay is not enabled, a flashingLoad button will replace the normal Play button - this must be clicked to begin playing the audio. To enable Firefox autoplay:
